Leading Meaningful Change in Today’s Complex World

Now more than ever, I see leaders struggling to make sense of our rapidly changing world. Economic uncertainty, shifting policies, and escalating tariffs create turbulence across industries, affecting supply chains, budgets, and long-term planning. Organizations can’t afford to be caught off guard—they need a clear strategy to confidently navigate complexity and uncertainty.

For over two decades, I’ve helped organizations anticipate, adapt, and lead change with my proven Leading Meaningful Change (LMC) model. This approach equips leaders and teams with the skills to manage disruption while staying aligned with their core values and priorities. The reality is clear: external forces are reshaping the landscape around us and within our organizations.

Why this matters now more than ever:

  • Wars, tariffs, and economic volatility are forcing leaders to rethink operations and make critical decisions to respond to extraordinary changes.
  • Leading through chaos and uncertainty demands strong, effective leadership, accountability, and strategic foresight.
  • Responding to this call to action requires alignment around a shared vision, values, principles, and a solid plan.
  • Building and sustaining cohesive teamwork across the organization and beyond is essential for handling current pressures and competing priorities.
  • The stakes are high. Alignment and commitment to values and the way forward are essential.
  • Equipping ourselves and our teams (in real-time) with strategies, knowledge, tools, and resources is critical to help us live, lead, and manage both short- and long-term change.

What Leading Meaningful Change (LMC) delivers:

  • A powerful framework and process to help you lead and develop yourself, your teams, and your organization through uncertainty, complex change, transition, and transformation.
  • A proven methodology anchored in case examples supported by tools and resources.
  • An LMC toolkit designed to harness your teams’ knowledge, skills, and contributions.
  • An effective approach to develop, validate, enhance, or pivot your plans for living, leading, and managing in these extraordinary times.

This model is built for today’s challenges. Over the past five years, more than 2,800 participants from diverse sectors have leveraged our LMC programs, including:

  • Government (Provincial, Federal, Municipal)
  • Not-for-profit Organizations
  • Education
  • Housing & Social Services
  • Indigenous Leadership
  • Legal & Corporate Services
  • Health Care & Mental Health
  • Mining
  • Finance
  • Safety & Security
  • Child Care

The stakes are high, but you don’t have to do this alone. Now is the time to invest in your people, your strategies, and the skills and mindsets needed to pivot and stabilize your organization through these challenging times.

Gustavson Project Showcase Day

Reflections from a Mentor: Gustavson’s Inspiring Project Showcase Day

Last week, I had the privilege of being a mentor at the inaugural Project Showcase Day at the Gustavson School of Business. What an incredible day! This event, beautifully orchestrated by Stacey Fitzsimmons and her team, was an inspiring opportunity for students to showcase their innovative projects and talents in a dynamic, supportive environment.

As a mentor, I was blown away by the students’ creativity, determination, and thoughtfulness. Their projects were not only impressive, but also reflected the hard work and passion they’ve poured into their studies. It was an honour to provide guidance and feedback, and I left the day feeling deeply inspired by their potential as future leaders.

A heartfelt thank you to Stacey Fitzsimmons, Associate Professor of International Business at the University of Victoria, for creating such a meaningful experience, and to my fellow mentors for making the day even more impactful. Collaboration between seasoned professionals and aspiring leaders truly creates magic!

I’ve heard from Stacey that many students took the time to share how much this experience meant to them. This is a reminder of how valuable it is to show up and share our knowledge and insights—it really does make a difference.

I look forward to seeing the spotlight on some of these fantastic projects in the coming weeks. Congratulations to all the students and the Gustavson team for such a successful event!
